The Greater Wakefield Lions Club successfully distributed 200 signs to Wakefield residents. Let’s keep them up all summer long!

Signs are intended to be displayed in yards to remind drivers and pedestrians to share the road safely. Keep them up all season long. You may keep your sign for continual use.

  • BWANH Safety Presentation

    May 13, 2025 | 1:20-2pm | Paul School

    The Bike Walk Alliance of New Hampshire (BWANH) will be giving a presentation on biking and walking safely to the 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at the Paul School. A handful of free bike helmets will be provided to students who need them.

  • National Bike & Roll to School Day

    May 7, 2025 | 7:30 - 8:30am | Wakefield Parks & Rec

    The Parks & Recreation Department is celebrating National Bike & Roll to school day with FREE helmets and breakfast.

  • Wakefield Bike/Walk to School Day

    May 16, 2025 | 7:30-8:30am

    Students, teachers, and parents are invited to walk or bike to school. Enjoy the morning, get some exercise, and show your community spirit as we make our way safely to school together. Parking is available at the Poor People’s Pub and the Recreation Department.

  • Bike Decorating for Pride Day Parade

    May 17 | Time TBD | Paul School

    Join the Greater Wakefield Lions Club as they host a bike decorating contest before the parade on Wakefield Pride Day. More information coming soon.

FAQs

  • The Slow Down Wakefield signs are available for all Wakefield residents who wish to communicate drivers should slow down and watch out for pedestrians.

  • Slow Down Wakefield signs are FREE to Wakefield residents courtesy of the Greater Wakefield Lions Club.

  • You can keep your sign up for as long as you wish! We recommend May through October.

  • You may keep your sign to put up seasonally. Alternatively, the Lions Club will be accepting signs at the end of the season. Stay tuned for more information.

  • A limited number of bike helmets will be available at the Paul School after the Bike Walk Alliance of New Hampshire safety presentation. Free helmets are also available at the Parks and Recreation Department.
